The courtyard of the 10th century  The Duomo that dates from the 13th century and the Casa Cipolla in Taormina dates from the 15th century.What depicts Taormina as an important site is the Monument of the Ancient Theater which is one of the most important and respected ruins in Sicily, Mostly built  from Brick which is probably Roman period , but confusing as it maybe it is planned as that of a Greek building  , so Archaeologist believe that there was once a Greek theater  then the Romans built on top preserving  both the Greek and Roman period.It is now often used for operatic and theatrical performances and for concerts.Not far from Taormina you can also see  Mount Etna the largest Volcano in Europe.
