COLOSSEUM AND ROMAN FORUM TOUR - this first tour will take about 2 hours :

While stands the Coliseum, Rome shall stand

When falls the Coliseum, Rome shall fall;

And when Rome falls – the World.

by Lord Byron The Colosseum is the Emblem of  Rome , the most astounding feats of  Ancient architectural engineering, built by the Flavi dynasty about 2000 years ago.You will learn about the sophisticated underground  system and how it revolutionized public stadiums all over the Empire, about the gladiators’ life and combats and  the arena on which celebrated games took place for the entertainment of over 50,000 spectators at a time. We’ll leave for the Colosseum to reach the Forum and standing in front of Costantine Arch, it is so clear why the Roman triumphal arches were copied all over the world in modern times.

The Roman Forum was the political, religious and commercial center of Rome for centuries.  You will walk  through ancient cobble stoned streets  admiring the ruins of majestic temples and basilicas, where legal cases were heard, until you will still hear  Mark Antony ‘s words resounding:”Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears” like  in the play Julius Caesar, by William Shakespeare

Then we will be able to enjoy a great view of the Forum from the top of  the hill number one: The Capitol,  to finally stand in the Square designed by the Supreme Genius: Michelangelo.
